A classic submitted by dorina on July 2, 2015, 9:33pm This is classic. That says it all.

One of the 4-hour Hollywood super-productions of the 60s. OF COURSE the novel on which it is based is FAR superior submitted by Tassos on December 31, 2018, 8:28am But if you are a typical illiterate of today, with his or her nose in their I-phones, who never read a HALF DECENT book, (Steven King and Harry Potter and John Grisham DO NOT COUNT!) I guess this spaghetti version of the Great BOOK will do.

BTW how ridiculous is it to cast... an EGYPTIAN (Omar Sharif) who does not even remotely look like a Russian, as... the RUSSIAN Dr. Zhivago?

A Gem! submitted by saleder on June 17, 2022, 3:36pm I finally got around to watching this, mostly out of curiosity about the early roles of Julie Christy, and I'm glad I did. The opening scene features Alec Guinness, who is fabulous, and we get into the story. It's long - we watched it over a few nights, and enjoyed all the performances, the beautiful locations, an interesting story.
