tracy chapman submitted by a2sue on August 5, 2013, 8:17am fast car is the best song on this cd

Wonderful Album submitted by Maria Maguire on July 3, 2018, 6:31pm Her first album but probably my favorite. The songs are full of poignant lyrics about race and class. I often find myself stopping to listen hard to what she is singing.

Heart-felt, soulful, will make you feel deeply submitted by nemiller on August 21, 2023, 10:05am "Fast Car" is a classic for a reason. If you're less familiar with her other work, definitely check this album out. Every song on the album will make you feel deeply.

Stands the Test of Time submitted by clarity on August 10, 2024, 10:27am Tracy Chapman lays her soul bare in this earnest inaugural album. It's hard to believe it was released 35 years ago, but listening to it again reanimates a wonderful mix of emotions.

I loved it! submitted by mmjhnson on June 17, 2025, 12:58pm Tracy chapman is a great singer song writer. She has a deep soulful voice. Her style reminds me of acoustic folk music from the 1970’s. Fast Car is so wonderful it makes me cry in a good way. I highly recommend this album.
