Not what you think submitted by Nancianna Girbach on October 16, 2017, 7:23am This is NOT a comedy film by any stretch of the imagination. It is a dark film commenting on money, greed, and saving the planet. It was uncomfortable to watch. Maybe that was a good thing.

NOT a comedy submitted by janet48103 on November 29, 2017, 12:11pm This is a worth while movie, but please beware it is not a comedy.

It's NOT funny! submitted by bookher on August 1, 2018, 3:02pm God what an awful depressing film! I love Selma Hayek and this film just shows how versatile her acting is but the subject matter was simply awful. I think it meant to shock, which it did but I wish I'd know first how disturbing it was because I was in the mood for a comedy. John Lithgow is also one of my favorite actors but it was uncomfortable to watch him in this.

not really a comedy submitted by kbahleda on August 21, 2018, 1:22pm This should not be marked as a comedy...the acting was good, but it really wasn't funny.

Wonderful film, but it's mis-marketed as a comedy submitted by nemiller on July 19, 2019, 11:42pm This is such an amazing film! I think the reason it's getting low ratings is because people are picking it up expecting a comedy, and it just isn't one. I think it should be filed under "drama" instead.

Beatriz at Dinner is a brilliant film that tells a compelling story, with complex and believable (if not all sympathetic) characters, exploring themes such as microaggressions, extreme capitalism, and attacks on the environment. As usual Salma Hayek does not disappoint! John Lithgow's performance is spot-on as well!

Highly recommended - just don't expect a comedy!

Beatriz at Dinner submitted by lstorc on July 20, 2019, 5:06pm This is a good drama with quality acting! There are some funny moments.

Beatriz at Dinner submitted by JY 2005 on June 14, 2020, 7:30pm I really enjoyed watching this movie with my family. It was quite funny and entertaining.
