But finally succumbed to peer pressure and, omg, what a marvelous story! There's something (or someone) for every viewer, and the production values with the time skipping is top notch. Check out the pilot and get hooked.

If you liked Parenthood, I definitely recommend this series. This is Us follows the lives of three siblings, each of whom leads a very different life. Delves into almost every social issue in society today. I could see this being a really great way of starting dialogue with teen viewers too.

powerful suspense.

We knew a death was coming, so many scenes had us tense, waiting, on the edge of our seats, holding our breath in case this was the moment that the character dies.

A writer friend advised me to watch this series as a mentor text for managing time in my own writing.

It covers multiple generations in a family, different societal issues, and different elements of different relationships. It can be emotional and dramatic, but ultimately very heartwarming.
