It's 1930s Manchuria, and greed is in the air. A manic outlaw, a nasty holy man, and a determined bounty hunter are all in hot pursuit of a treasure map. Throw in Chinese gangsters, the Japanese army, and other rival factions also in pursuit of the invaluable map, and it all comes down to a big showdown in the desert.
DVD; anamorphic widescreen (2.35:1); Dolby digital 5.1.
Not your typical western submitted by majean on August 22, 2018, 4:17pm This is definitely an action movie, but with just enough comedy and characterization to keep me interested. The various factions that are chasing the treasure map - the Japanese army, the Manchurian bandits, and the three Korean main characters (the Good, the Bad, and the Weird) - are distinctly dressed and use various modes of transportations (Jeeps, horses, and motorcycles) so they are pretty easy to keep separate in the large scale shoot-outs that often erupt. The sets and costumes are beautiful (if probably anachronistic at times). Don't question the physics of the weapons, just sit back and enjoy.
