"Sandman based on characters created by Gaiman, Kieth, and Dringenberg"
"Originally published in single magazine form as THE SANDMAN 9-16."
"The second installment of Neil Gaiman's seminal series, THE SANDMAN VOL. 2: THE DOLL'S HOUSE, celebrates its 30th anniversary with all all-new edition! New York Times best-selling author Neil Gaiman's transcendent series SANDMAN is often hailed as the definitive Vertigo title and one of the finest achievements in graphic storytelling. Gaiman created an unforgettable tale of the forces that exist beyond life and death by weaving ancient mythology, folklore and fairy tales with his own distinct narrative vision. During Morpheus's incarceration, three dreams escaped the Dreaming and are now loose in the waking world. At the same time, a young woman named Rose Walker is searching for her little brother. As their stories converge, a vortex is discovered that could destroy all dreamers, and the world itself."-- Provided by publisher.

COMMUNITY REVIEWS

Shadows of things to come? submitted by majean on August 16, 2018, 3:14pm I really enjoyed Rose's story and all the people at her boarding house. Also, the "cereal" convention. Very nice.

This is where things start to open up submitted by valjean on August 27, 2018, 12:57am Now that we've established tone and characters, Gaiman starts to build the world and metaplot of the series. Characters are introduced that will recur throughout the series and some (for me, the Corinthian) will haunt you even many years later. You should definitely read this if you intend to read more volumes of the series. If you just want a taste of what Sandman is about, I would skip to Volume 3, then maybe come back to this one.

The journey continues submitted by kaymbre on July 1, 2023, 9:55am In this second book in the graphic novel series, Gaiman continues the story of Morpheus and the ramifications of his long separation from the world of dream. Again, as with the other books in this series, this is an adult oriented dark fantasy. Just because it is a "comic book" doesn't mean it is appropriate for kids. That said, it is a tale told by a master and well worth the time.

The Doll's House submitted by hrgray on July 20, 2023, 10:43pm I enjoyed Rose Walker's story, but the real charm in this volume for me was in the variety of secondary characters. All the people staying at the boardinghouse are well written and fleshed out to the point that I was happy to see them again later in the series.
