Bud, not Buddy submitted by KSB2013 on July 28, 2013, 11:17pm Great classic movie. Many awards. Great for young ears
Great narrator submitted by camelsamba on August 4, 2013, 8:08pm *Bud, not Buddy* is a wonderful story - a charming mix of adventure, loss, and humor. The narrator for this book (James Avery) is extraordinary. He does a really good job of conveying the emotions of a 10 year old boy who is stuck in some challenging situations. I ended up reading the last couple of chapters of this book since we didn't finish the CD version on our trip, and I was a bit surprised to see that some phrases were 'childish' - e.g. idioms to reflect a child's way of hearing; however, it sounded completely natural in Avery's performance.
Well done audiobook!

James Avery does a wonderful job with this book.
My 10yr. old daughter and I were pulled into the story!
It was also fun to hear "Bud" visit Michigan towns and landmarks.
Depression story submitted by leea on August 18, 2020, 12:36pm A 10-year-old African American orphan boy was running away to look for his father during the depression era. It gave us the insight where he came from and what he went though the journey to where he finally settle and belong "HOME".
Great Book, Great Reader submitted by rkraut on July 16, 2022, 5:01pm I really loved the reading of this book as much as the book itself. Great for a card ride with a mix of ages of kids.
