In Out From Boneville, volume 1 of this 9-book epic, the three Bone cousins, Fone Bone, Phoney Bone, and Smiley Bone, are separated and lost in a vast, uncharted desert. One by one, they find their way into a deep, forested valley filled with wonderful and terrifying creatures. Eventually, the cousins are reunited at a farmstead run by tough Gran'ma Ben and her spirited granddaughter Thorn. But little do the Bones know, there are dark forces conspiring against them, and their adventures are only just beginning!

awesome submitted by mwallagm on August 11, 2011, 4:35pm this is a great series.

they find thereselves in a valley where things are very different from boneville

Bone #1 submitted by alexcantu on June 16, 2012, 7:25am Me and my mom are reading the bone series. This is my moms first time, and my 3/4 time. I think that book 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, Handbook, Rose, and tall tales up are most exciting and in my head better, but I also think that book 1,2,3,4 are probably more interesting.

Justly classic submitted by FordAlpha on July 18, 2018, 10:07pm The Bone series is great fun to read, though confusing at times. It is full of mystery with answers gradually revealed, action and peril that are sometimes quite scary, leavened by comedy, and enriched by literary references. There are some great running jokes, like the two hapless quiche-eating rat creatures who never manage to catch the Bones.

Great submitted by Team_ROX on July 22, 2018, 8:55am The Bone series is great fun to read, though confusing at times.

Good book submitted by ferica123 on June 20, 2019, 8:04am This book was cool and interesting. A lot of exciting things happen. (6 year-old's review)

Good book submitted by MattX on June 16, 2021, 8:28am I give this book a 4 1/2 rating. The series persuades people to read it, since will make you assume that it might be interesting. I like it. (9 year-old's review)

this is a great book. submitted by luluroro on June 24, 2021, 4:26pm it makes readers,(like me) full of enthusiasm.

Classic series submitted by severian on June 30, 2021, 8:56pm The art is wonderful and feels like a throwback to an older age of comics craftsmanship. Think of it as a mash-up between Walt Kelly's comic strip Pogo and the Lord of the Rings. The expressions of the characters, the timing, and the dialogue are especially well done. One of the few comics I laughed out loud on a regular basis while reading. Give it a try!
