COMMUNITY REVIEWS
Smart vs. Not-smart submitted by pkooger on January 25, 2012, 1:51pm Despite the fact that it is humans who devise the miracle Alzheimer's drug that somehow gives apes a vastly heightened intelligence, the humans in this film are mostly fools and/or jerks. Conversely, the apes all seem pretty darn intelligent even before they get gassed with BrainDrug 112. By the end, I was seriously jonesing for the ape-perpetrated killing spree that I assumed was coming. Human hating aside, I enjoyed the film. Andy Serkis is fantastic in his role as Caesar, the brainy chimp. Caesar was certainly the most sympathetic character in the film, and when he stands up to Draco Malfoy, it gave me chills.
Hail Caesar submitted by markwells on May 20, 2012, 9:37pm This movie does a pretty good job of setting up that original classic "Apes." B+
rotpota submitted by a2sue on July 25, 2013, 10:23pm they should just leave the classics alone
Better submitted by crazypockets on August 2, 2013, 7:22pm This was better than I expected. I don't think I've ever seen a single Planet of the Apes movie all the way through. I always thought they looked awful, but I'm a James Franco fan, so I checked this one out. It was smarter than I thought it'd be, though the humans certainly weren't. The only thing I didn't think was as great as everyone said was the CGI, specifically the motion capture on Andy Serkis. He was great, of course, but I just don't think the technology will stand the test of time. I guess we'll see....
Great submitted by hornv on July 5, 2014, 4:00pm Caesar was great in this movie! I bought it. He is back again in the second one coming soon. It's War!
Bring it. submitted by cinderellariley on August 14, 2014, 2:27pm Better than I thought it would be. Ceaser made the movie.
Well done submitted by steveiew on July 1, 2017, 9:48am This movie was well done though hard to watch at times due to the cruelty to the animals.
