Local Classic submitted by irenzero on June 18, 2011, 7:20pm For too long Ann Arbor wouldn't own up to being the home of The Stooges, now they have been given the key to the city.... listen and see why.

proto-punk submitted by tisaallen on July 16, 2022, 8:07pm John Cale produced the first Stooges album and didn't seem to know what to do with their primal sound, adding some superlative production flourishes that diminish its power a little bit, but it's still a strong debut if not as awesome as Fun House.

Interesting Rock History submitted by Meginator on August 7, 2023, 11:30pm From the beginning of this album through its entire runtime it is obvious why and how the Stooges had such a massive influence on early punk bands. Sounding both of its time and beyond it, the music has a very rough feeling to it that is almost experimental at times. This isn’t exactly easy listening, but fans of punk and its descendants may find the album interesting for its clear connection to what was to come.
