COMMUNITY REVIEWS

Jim Dale is still great, but Hagrid as a villian? submitted by camelsamba on July 12, 2011, 9:49am Are you wondering how Peter Pan came to be? Read this series for an alternative interpretation.

I enjoyed the book, but I feel like it could have been maybe 25% shorter. It felt like many details were just there to prolong the suspense, but didn't really move the plot forward. It just got tiring after awhile. That didn't stop me from reading the next book, though (although I did eventually give up on the series).

I started out listening to this, in part because Jim Dale (of Harry Potter book reading fame) was the narrator. I was a bit taken aback when his Black Stache sounded like Hagrid. The main problem I had with Hagrid and Black Stache having such a similar voice is that Hagrid is a good guy (gentle and bumbling), but Stache is definitely a bad guy. Not sure whose voice he could have had instead - after all, Dolores Umbridge wouldn't work for the most feared pirate. :^)

And then I left the CDs at work and wanted to make progress in the story, so I switched over to print.

Interesting submitted by 0liviap0pp on August 13, 2011, 7:21am A relatively interesting book. Good.
