A Wrinkle in Time submitted by wampishing on June 25, 2013, 9:21am In an adept adaption of the beloved Madeleine L'Engle classic, Hope Larson re-spins the tale Meg Murray's space-spanning rescue mission of her father with loving visuals. The characters retain all their gawky glory; Larson does not give in to the temptation to draw awkward Meg or big eared Calvin into standard molds of attractiveness. The use of chunky ink lines, and a limited palette of black, white and a single shade of blue, create both an etheric and a solid atmosphere. Larson creates some particularly impressive visuals when depicting the act of tessering with inverted colors, and uses visual symbolism (for instance, when Meg first defies It) that is uniquely suited to the comic format. The story feels particularly dense in this format, however, and some panels could benefit from more room to breathe; the adaption sacrifices some pacing in order to keep the graphic novel a manageable length. Unavoidably, much of the details of L'Engle's prose have been discarded, as long passages of text do not work well in most graphic novels. Still, the core of the story remains intact, filtered through the voice of an accomplished artist who clearly loves the original tale. Fans and new readers alike should find this high quality adaption an enjoyable way to experience this seminal story.

very good submitted by unknown on July 30, 2013, 7:52pm A Wrinkle In Time is one of my favorites. I hope they do the other ones in the series as well.

good adaptation submitted by camelsamba on June 19, 2015, 8:39pm Although it's been decades since I last read A Wrinkle in Time, I felt like this was a good adaptation of the story (although the ending was a bit abrupt). I don't like the people's faces very much though - Meg always looks so sullen, Calvin extra goofy and bumbly, Charles Wallace so bug-eyed. Everyone is exaggerated - even the Ws have freaky faces. But it was so nice to be back in the story. The power of love overcomes evil, just like in so many of L'Engle's books.

Aside: Mitochondria - aren't they supposed to be in here too? Or is that a later book in the original trilogy? I have a distinct memory of learning about cells in 10th grade biology and feeling all superior b/c I'd learned about mitochondria from Madeleine L'Engle!

Confusing! submitted by boone.squirrels on June 20, 2015, 8:12am I can never keep up with a wrinkle in time, adapted or not. This book's storyline is hard to keep track of, and I never finished this book because of this.

Wonderful submitted by majean on August 17, 2018, 7:17pm How wonderful that this was made into a graphic novel!

A Wrinkle in Time : : the Graphic Novel submitted by Varshini on July 28, 2019, 11:07pm I enjoyed reading the graphic novel version of A Wrinkle In Time after reading the book and watching the movie. I didn't really like the graphics, but the story itself was fine.

Cool submitted by oliviak1014 on August 24, 2019, 11:34am Good but a little confusing at the start. follows the exact story line
