COMMUNITY REVIEWS

Stop Making Sense submitted by Caser on May 5, 2010, 1:51pm The highest praise I can heap on Jonathan Demme's concert film non-pareil, Stop Making Sense, is that people who have no interest in the band Talking Heads, and even some people who I've heard claim they dislike the group, have been enraptured by this film. Lead vocalist David Byrne designed the stage and dreamt up the concept of gradually bringing various band members on to play as the night went on, culminating in his delightful 'big suit' number. Director Demme allows the energetic performance to take center stage, so expect no backstage-with-the-band scenes, nor any neurotic fan footage, nor a million dizzying editing splices. This is not a youtube, back of the crowd experience. This is one of the most innovative and influential bands of the post-punk/new wave era playing just for you. Enjoy the show.

amazing submitted by manz on July 23, 2017, 12:15pm I second everything Caser said in the other review.

Super film. Super show. Super band!

Amazing submitted by SaraP on August 5, 2022, 9:24am This is so good. I have to watch it every couple years. Absolutely one of the best rock-docs ever made.
