"Originally published in 2010 in French by Gallimard as Cadavre exquis"--T.p. verso.
"Zoe isn't the intellectual type, which is why she doesn't recognize world-famous author Thomas Rocher when she stumbles into his apartment...and into his life. It's also why she doesn't know that Rocher is supposed to be dead. Rocher faked his death years ago to escape his critics, and has been making a killing releasing his new work as "lost manuscripts," in cahoots with his editor/ex-wife Agathe. Zoe doesn't know Balzac from Batman, but she's going to have to wise up fast... because she's sitting on the literary scandal of the century!"-- Provided by publisher.

Perfect Summer Read submitted by Sara W on August 29, 2015, 9:57pm This book has stellar illustrations - they are stylish and expressive and funny/cute/dramatic - it's beautiful. I love the stylized appearances of the characters and, as happens to me with the Scott Piligrim books as well, I'm jealous of all the female character's hair. Penelope Bagieu creates a perfect story arc, dwelling just long enough on Zoe's stalled-out life before following a chance meeting into coincidence-based cohabitation. Thomas' secret is met with just enough fury from totally-relatable Zoe, and then we move into the solution-you-didn't-see-coming.

This isn't a book that will change your life, but it's a beautifully-made distraction that should make you laugh and begs to be re-read.
