Catrina and her family have moved to the coast of Northern California for the sake of her little sister, Maya, who has cystic fibrosis--and Cat is even less happy about the move when she is told that her new town is inhabited by ghosts, and Maya sets her heart on meeting one.

Northern CA Mission Ghosts and the Day of the Dead submitted by sdunav on June 17, 2017, 10:03am I struggled with how many stars to give this - the portrayal of cystic fibrosis seems good, but the descriptions of the Day of the Dead and the missions in northern California are problematic (see here: https://booktoss.wordpress.com/2016/09/18/ghosts-swing-and-a-hard-miss/ ). And honestly I didn't like the way the ghosts were drawn or their role in the community. But there was a lot I really liked about this graphic novel....so 3.5/5 for me

Great story submitted by Xris on July 16, 2021, 12:46pm Now I want to go to a Day of the Dead celebration! And I like how cystic fibrosis was weaved into it too, talking about breathing. I had a classmate that had CF, so it makes me think of her.
