COMMUNITY REVIEWS
Indie Pop Meets Jazz and Soul submitted by Meginator on June 25, 2019, 9:05pm This album feels rather melancholy overall, with some jazz and soul overtones added to its core indie pop singer-songwriter vibe. Cat Power hits some really nice grooves on a few tracks, and each feels distinct from the others without straying form the album’s general musical sensibility. I do think that this is an album best suited to particular moods, but I’ll bet it feels really good when you hit it at just the right time.
Cat Power grooves submitted by Richard Lee Pierre on August 18, 2019, 10:22pm Cat Power pairs really well with the Memphis soul/jazz musicians (including some legends like Teenie Hodges). This is one of Cat Power's best. As creative as ever, she joins r&B/soul/jazz/blues roots with her unmistakable voice, lyrics, and phrasing to create an album that has both groove and profundity. Definitely worth a listen.
