Well written, great characters, compelling story submitted by Susan4Pax -prev. sueij- on June 18, 2022, 11:42pm This young adult novel feels like the male counterpart to Angie Thomas’ _The Hate U Give_, giving the perspective of a Black male prep school high school senior who is doing everything “right” but for the first time comes up-close and personal face-to-face with what it means to not only BE Black but be SEEN as Black. The story takes a couple of turns that I didn’t expect, covers different ground than Thomas’ book, and is overall another phenomenal ‘see the world from someone else’s perspective’ book. Well written, great characters, compelling story, and highly recommended.

Short and made me cry submitted by mintaroni on July 7, 2022, 2:15pm Short but packs a lot of emotion and perspective. I recommend it for anyone who wants to put themselves in a young black mans shoes.
