Excellent book submitted by Chris Haddlesey on June 15, 2018, 12:22pm This is much more than a reprinting of some instruction manual pages: it also explains each title's legacy and features the speedrunners that are still discovering secrets today. Highly recommended.

A Tribute to a Great Console submitted by Meginator on August 22, 2022, 9:35am This heartfelt tribute to the Super Nintendo, via some of its most iconic titles, provides a lot of information about the games themselves (and, in the process, the history of gaming) while going to a deeper level with features on sequels, speedrunning, and fandom. The writing is by turns informative, irreverent, and funny, with plenty of sly references that longtime fans will appreciate without that sense of haughty exclusion that permeates so much of nerd culture; instead of feeling uncool for never playing F-Zero or A Link to the Past (I know), this book left me wanting to pick up my controllers and try them immediately to see just what it is that has created their lasting impact, to say nothing of my desire to dust off some familiar classics I’ve already played tons of times. Packed with pictures, fun facts, stories, and personality, this book truly is for everyone who considers themself a gamer: it’s for people like me who grew up on (and still frequently replay) the console’s 2D platformers; people like my parents, who didn’t know what they were getting into when buying me an SNES in the first place but who understand the impact it has had on me; and people like my young nephew, who is just learning to appreciate the unique (but, I insist, character-building) frustrations of limited save points. He’ll get there, if this book is any indication.
