COMMUNITY REVIEWS

Accessible Experimentation submitted by Meginator on July 1, 2019, 10:47pm This album feels a bit less musically experimental than some of the Tune-Yards' other work, and it is surprisingly accessible, with more electronic influences peppered in. The lyrics are very take-no-prisoners, offering straightforward commentary on political issues, particularly feminism and racism. I had hoped for something a bit less conventional, given my previous experiences with the band, but I did enjoy this.

Worth a Listen submitted by kencza on July 27, 2022, 11:52pm Once again Merrill Garbus and Tune-Yards present a musically hybridized look at all around us in a take no prisoners fashion. It can be repetitious at times but it is always unique and infused with simplicity that gets the message across and it is fanny shaking at the same time. The music combines elements of pop, jazz , rap/gangsta, rock, and at times electronic music.
