Consistent submitted by Meginator on August 27, 2019, 11:08pm I have a lot of respect for the Breeders and the band certainly deserves its place in alt-rock history, but I just couldn’t get into this album. Despite some bright spots, the songs largely lack innovation and energy, settling into a specific sound that recalls “Last Splash” (which makes sense, given that this is the same lineup) but doesn’t push it at all forward. The band is great at what they do, but I was left wanting more.

Better Than Late Pixies submitted by jibkidder on July 12, 2022, 9:29pm Albini is quoted as saying that Frank Black is not a genius but Kim Deal is. And while it seems that her output can be weighed down in places by the toll of opiate addiction, there is always a lot to love in any release of hers. The solo 7"s she was putting out immediately preceding this release are sooo very good, and a little bit of that material shows up here. The Amps record has got some of her best work too. Hope she puts out more soon.
