"Farrar Straus Giroux Books for Young Readers."--Title page verso.
"Speak up for yourself--we want to know what you have to say." From the first moment of her freshman year at Merryweather High, Melinda knows this is a big fat lie, part of the nonsense of high school. She is friendless--an outcast--because she busted an end-of-summer party by calling the cops, so now nobody will talk to her, let alone listen to her.

Powerful submitted by GwenC on July 20, 2018, 1:17pm Its less intense then the written version. I'm not sure why but it just felt that way. An important story. Very good illustrations. It was in the kids section for graphic novels, so maybe move it to the teen section?

Great submitted by manz on May 5, 2021, 2:07pm This was a great adaptation of the novel. Having the story told in images and words on such a dark topic worked well with the black and white illustrations. It's a powerful book!
