COMMUNITY REVIEWS

Okay submitted by zmclaugh on July 27, 2018, 6:17pm The problem with this is that there wasn't the time or space to explore everything that the novels do. Thus, this is a rather standard story without the nuance of the original.

fine submitted by rjsjwilliams on August 9, 2018, 12:20pm This DVD is fine, but it goes no farther than fine. There are so many other aspects to explore, and this is not the film to do so. Generally unfulfilling.

not enjoyable submitted by yufamily on August 15, 2018, 3:40pm not my cup of tea

Visually stunning submitted by lstorc on August 28, 2018, 9:08am The plot was questionable, but the cinematography more than made up that. The ending was fun.

Weird submitted by mandevil on September 15, 2018, 1:09pm Difficult to follow. Not worth watching.

Horror movie masquerading as 'sciency' submitted by kjmclark on September 26, 2018, 8:18am I guess the premise is, what if some alien something landed on Earth, and took DNA from unrelated living things in the same kingdom and started mixing them up, but in ways that are certain to not immediately kill the thing. So, not just mutagens, actually splicing, but very intelligently - so tooth generation from sharks to alligators, snakes for human guts, etc. You really have better things to do with your time and attention, unless you're into horror flicks pretending to be something to do with science.

Science-horror submitted by majean on July 27, 2019, 2:09pm Yes, this is science-horror, but classic science fiction has always straddled that line. (Frankenstein, anyone?) I have not read the books, but I did read some in-depth summaries, and I think I would prefer the movie plot if I did choose to later read the book.
