COMMUNITY REVIEWS

Canine Mayhem submitted by kencza on July 30, 2018, 5:26pm Interesting concept but as a dog lover-a little hard to take. Didn't really care for the graphics and
the Japanese spin. I know Wes does things a little different but this was a slow.

Cute and Funny!!! submitted by Duckling on August 4, 2018, 10:36am I really love this directors work. I love the Fantastic Mr. Fox and this is a great addition to his work! Isle of Dogs is fun and exciting. I love the different point of views they take with each character. And I think it is a great movie to watch with your kids!

Didn't Strike My Fancy submitted by calinescus on August 23, 2018, 2:26pm In the past I have liked Anderson's work. But this one felt like it was constantly trying to be too clever. It was witty. But it didn't strike me in any emotional way. Even the animation itself did not seem entirely too inspired. There was one scene (with a chef preparing food) that was fun to watch. But it felt like the exception that proved the rule. I only saw it once, and perhaps my opinion would change with a re-watch. 2/5 stars

Great but a little dark submitted by toschag on July 18, 2019, 9:16pm It has the aesthetic of a children's movie but was also dark at some points, exploring abandonment and isolation. Also a decent amount of violence, though it was stylized. If you like Wes Anderson it's another classic of his and you should probably watch it. Otherwise, not a must see. 3/5

Loved it! submitted by yufamily on July 28, 2019, 3:56pm The storyline is fantastic

Isle of Dogs submitted by lstorc on August 31, 2019, 11:50pm Isle of Dogs has sad parts that are not appropriate for younger audiences. Otherwise, it's compelling with fantastic animation!

Fun movie submitted by Harlowamy on August 30, 2020, 9:20pm Wes Anderson can do no wrong! I love this movie. Appropriate for older kids because of some sad parts. We loved it.
