Nine people gather at a remote health resort. Some are here to lose weight, some are here to get a reboot on life, some are here for reasons they can't even admot to themselves. Amid all the luxury and pampering, the mindfulness and meditation, they know these ten days might involve some real work. But none of them could imagine just how challenging the next ten days are going to be. Frances Welty, the formerly bestselling romantic novelist, arrives at Tranquillum House and is immediately intrigued by her fellow guests, including the charismatic owner and director. Could this person really have the answers Frances didn't even know she was seeking? Should Frances put aside her doubts and immerse herself in everything Tranquillum House has to offer--or should she run while she still can? And it's not long before every guest is asking the same question. -- adapted from summary on book jacket.

Perfect submitted by Anthany on July 17, 2020, 1:16pm Nine perfect

sharp, funny, human submitted by bec on July 21, 2020, 1:25pm This was the first Liane Moriarty book I read, and I've since read a few more- so far, it's my favorite (so I guess I'm an outlier relative to the star ratings above!). Narrating from multiple characters' perspectives, Moriarty has this ability to poke fun at her characters and modern life without being mean. It reminds me of Jane Austen's sense of humor, and I was really pleased to find it in another writer.

Quite a wild ride. FYI, some very heavy upsetting subjects I think. submitted by jgetty on March 1, 2021, 12:06pm I started off laughing at the first chapters of this book, and I thought "this is going to be a fun happy read". Then, as the book progressed, terribly tragic and terribly sad themes and lives were exposed, and I was pretty overwhelmed, but I had to keep reading to see how this story was going to end. It is amazing to me how authors can weave very complicated and emotional plots and characters, and unusual subjects that I'd never heard or thought of, and explain very complicated people dealing with all kinds of themes in their lives. It was pretty heart-wrenching. But, the last about 5 chapters, everything sorted out, people came to grips pretty much with things, some happy things happened, and I thought "well that was a good book". But in the middle main part of the book, it was really a very heavy and emotional book.

Crazy submitted by nmrhoads on July 22, 2021, 10:34pm This book gets crazier and crazier. I liked it. Not as much as big little lies but it was still really good. Also very emotional

Page turner submitted by ilenekroll on July 23, 2021, 11:09pm I really thought this was a pager turner and really liked all the characters.

Classic Liane submitted by gemr310 on August 9, 2021, 2:13pm I didn't enjoy this one as much as others. But fans of Liane's work will be satisfied.

Perfect submitted by bjkoch on July 15, 2022, 1:58pm Here after reading most of her other books. great addition to the set

Did not meet the hype submitted by Bethybeth07 on July 24, 2022, 9:52pm I had multiple people recommend it but I was not as into it as her other books. That being said it's about 10 times better than the hulu adaptation

Bizarre but a fun read submitted by leah karr on August 20, 2022, 10:07pm This crew of health retreat guests is full of surprises!
