Couldn't Listen To This submitted by markovchaney on May 13, 2019, 8:24pm I am now waiting for the book; I love Letham's writing, had recently listened to and very much enjoyed A GAMBLER'S ANATOMY, and was really looking forward to spending driving time with this book. Unfortunately, Zosia Mamet is not a good choice to do books on CD. Her voice is simply hard to understand and, frankly, irritating. This is ironic in that her mother, Lindsay Crouse, has one of the most lovely voices I've ever had the pleasure of hearing. I heard Ms. Crouse perform in several of David Mamet's short plays back in the '80s and found her voice completely captivating. Not so that of Zosia. With all the fine voice actors available to read this novel, it's sad that the powers that be chose Ms. Mamet. They could have done so much better.
