Meh submitted by selujules on August 10, 2019, 9:23am Didn't love it. A quickish read (I finished in one beach day), and some interesting plot twists, but I didn't find it as original and engaging a plot as it had been hyped up to be. I wouldn't put it at the top of your "must read!" list, but it is entertaining escapism.

The Silent Patient submitted by srussel on June 20, 2020, 10:08pm Slow start, but ended up being a fantastic read. The author combines deep emotion character profiles with a gripping, twisty who dunnit style book. I loved it.

Entertaining! submitted by AGAPHD on July 5, 2020, 4:05pm A fun, quick read. Some interesting twists and fairly engaging writing.

A good thriller submitted by mbleed on July 21, 2020, 12:13pm a quick read, goood enough to keep me entetained and guessing til the end.

Wild ride! submitted by jaromatorio on July 24, 2020, 11:12am I’d heard so many great things about ‘The Silent Patient’, but I was a little skeptical about how much I’d enjoy it-- I love the mystery genre generally, but sometimes I find modern thrillers to be a little melodramatic for my taste. But y'all, THIS BOOK! So many fantastic twists and turns! Such a good slow burn to the climax of the story! I read it in four hours.⠀

'The Silent Patient' of this story is one Alicia Berenson, a successful artist in a seemingly blissful marriage, who--for apparently no reason--murders her husband in cold blood. Following the murder, she stops speaking entirely, offering no explanation or defense for her actions. When a new psychotherapist with a strong interest in her case is hired at the psychiatric hospital where Alicia is housed, her silence (and with it, the story behind her husband's killing) begins to crack, eventually revealing the true events of the night of the murder.⠀

As usual, I don't want to say much more for fear of giving something away, but if you're looking for a fast read that feels more like you're watching a movie than reading a book, 'The Silent Patient' is for you!⠀

Couldn't put it down submitted by rebecca.perreault on June 16, 2021, 3:21pm This book had a fantastic twist, I couldn't put it down!
The book switched narration between the psychiatrist trying to get Alicia to speak about her husband's murder, and Alicia's diary entries.
You will definitely find yourself wondering who you trust and believe. A must read for lovers of thrillers.

Convoluted submitted by mandevil on September 21, 2021, 4:34pm Mildly entertaining

Great Twists submitted by carcat15 on June 10, 2022, 2:46pm The beginning was slow at times, but as it went on I couldn't put it down. I was not expecting the big twist!

Woah- Surprise! submitted by diana_kimball on June 20, 2022, 10:45pm Great twist that I didn’t guess until the end! Easy reading.

Nice quick read submitted by ellec on July 13, 2022, 1:32pm I sped through this book in a day or two because of how thrilling it was. Loved it!!

Insanity submitted by anushagupta on July 13, 2022, 10:52pm The most insane twist I have ever experienced. This book is so much more than a thriller, and I cannot recommend it enough

Thriller with a Twist submitted by zbo919 on July 28, 2022, 8:55pm Was an easy read, but kept me engaged. Was a fun thriller, with a great twist, that I'd recommend to my friends!

The anti-Harlan Coben book submitted by hiker15 on March 22, 2023, 3:16pm Coben's stories are engaging but the endings tend to be lame. This story went on and on but it was an easy read and the plot twist at the end was great (and totally surprised me)! I'd definitely recommend this book.

A great thriller for someone new to the genre! submitted by lakeabigail on June 12, 2023, 4:54pm I am an avid reader, but have not read many books in the thriller genre. If you are new to this genre or haven't picked up a book in awhile this is a great book that could get you hooked back into reading. This novel tells the story of a psychotherapist who is interested in working at a mental health facility where a famous painter is housed. The painter had fatally shot her husband and refused to speak after the crime occurred. You read the story through the perspective of a psychotherapist who wants to get a job at the facility where she is kept. I enjoyed this author's style of writing and felt that the book propelled itself forward at a good pace. I was interested to learn more about the painter and see how the story unfolded. If you are an avid reader in the thriller genre, this book may not be for you. You might be able to predict where the plot will go, but as someone who isn't familiar with this genre I thoroughly enjoyed the twist at the end!

Great! submitted by Noah Oron on June 27, 2023, 9:10pm I don't want to ruin the mystery, but I would never guess the end. Easy reading, easy connecting with the caracters. Could "hear" her silence. I reccomend

Great quick read submitted by Bethybeth07 on July 8, 2023, 6:33pm It’s a relatively short book. Excellent suspense. I anticipated some twists and turns and spent most the book trying to figure it out. Not as predictable as most thrillers.

Good twist submitted by pratibhamahesh on July 11, 2023, 10:28am This book is definitely not my most favorite suspense thriller but... I liked it! The beginning was a drag but later on got interesting. The twist was awesome.

Good submitted by manz on August 14, 2023, 9:43am This was slow-paced but page turning at the same time! I enjoy the slow build, the suspense, the twists and turns, and how the story unfolded. It felt more like a movie than a book. I'd say try it if you are into psychological thrillers that are quick reads.
