Great for younger teens submitted by flemingj on June 17, 2019, 8:29am This book handles some tough topics - race and police violence in addition to the troubles of middle school - friends and crushes. It is like The Hate U Give without the language and older teen content.
Great for middle grade readers submitted by jcottey on June 29, 2020, 7:37pm The author really found the voice of the seventh-grade main character. In addition to covering important topics surrounding race and BLM, she also shows the friendship and school issues that occur for junior high students.
