Dig submitted by vicki browne on June 24, 2019, 10:13am Brilliant and demanding.
Complex and oddball.
Such high regard for A. S. King.
A challenging story to sum up, you'll just have to read it.
Things like trained fleas and flickering ??
It all starts with a failing potato farm.
5 children of Gottfried and Marla Hemmings and their 5 grandchildren.
Separate story lines and circling back around; be patient.
A few quotes that may give an idea of what's what: "A man I never met--a man whose name I don't even know--he's crippled everything about me."
-"I'm 16 years old and the only constant in my life other than my mother is our potato pot."
-"Like all secrets, it feels bigger than it is. Like all secrets, it breeds shame."
