Amazing Album submitted by ReadBooks on June 29, 2021, 6:42pm As always, Taylor filled Lover with many catchy, beautiful, and story-filled songs.

...And Now She's Successfully Conquered Electropop Too submitted by Meginator on August 11, 2021, 5:33pm She may make headlines for everything except for her music, but Taylor Swift is a major talent and this album’s stripped-down approach showcases her incredible songwriting talent. Not every song is perfect, but Swift knows how to craft a melody and sell a story, even when the album tells several different stories about her. The music is modern electropop, with a nice low-key bluegrass touch on the Dixie Chicks collaboration “Soon You’ll Get Better”, and the lyrics are a mix of Swift’s mainstays, from the delightfully petty “I Forgot That You Existed” to the anthemic “You Need to Calm Down” and “Me!” and her typical array of love songs. The album has a little bit of everything even as it develops and sustains a consistent vibe, and it represents an excellent argument for Swift’s status as the reigning queen of pop.
