A Modern Genre Blend That's All Her Own submitted by Meginator on August 23, 2020, 6:42pm I love Lizzo’s blend of genres, as she fuses r&b, blues, soul, pop, and hip-hop to create a sound that is all her own. The hooks are huge, immediately catchy, and often infused with a sense of humor that doesn’t diminish the songs’ often serious themes (or at least their display of Lizzo’s complete confidence in herself). Lizzo is a take-no-prisoners kind of performer, laying it all on the record, and her confidence comes though with every note she sings. This is amazing, empowering, and forward-thinking pop music.
