An Empowering tale about an ordinary girl submitted by Margaret on January 3, 2020, 11:19pm Hold onto your hats people this is nothing like the Disney princess universe. This is the story of Basil, a young princess cursed by a fairy to be: Ordinary. Tired of being overshadowed by her six sisters, she sets off on a quest aided by a young shepherd named Hudson to break the “curse” that was given to her long ago. I do really love the story because it’s different than other princess stories I’ve seen in the past. The characters are very well written and the artwork is really nice on the eyes. There is some graphic imagery so I don’t recommend the story for younger children, maybe kids in their pre-teens and older. when you get a moment please read the story and if you fall in love with it like I did, please find it at your local comic or bookstore to purchase it. The female protagonist is a very good example for younger girls.
