COMMUNITY REVIEWS

Better than it should be submitted by Will O on August 25, 2020, 7:44pm This was a much better movie than expected and kept me engaged even though it didn't do anything particularly new, it did it well enough to be worth a watch.
The set ups and pay offs like the bridge jump, the snow making truck and the zipper were all executed nicely.
The movie itself was very crisp and the effects were pretty damn good aside from the last bit of the movie where you could clearly tell The Blob and the people were shot separately and projected together but all the practical effects were astonishingly good.
My favorite part was probably how well done the pacing and tension were. Several times I was clutching the couch because I didn't know if they would get away. A large part of that was how many "main" characters died not just at the beginning but throughout which really gave a sense of danger and like anyone could be next. I've never seen so many well fleshed out characters just bite the dust and I was genuinely not expecting half the deaths.
Didn't love the ending which was a dumb sequel setup and while this wasn't groundbreaking I did enjoy everything aside from the 80's hair a lot.
