All-Star Lineup submitted by Meginator on June 12, 2021, 9:53am This compilation is a fitting tribute to the music of Tom Waits, with a stellar lineup of female singers. Each artist brings her own signature style to the music, and while most fit neatly into the expected country/folk category, a few blur the lines (although all of the tracks stick to a light acoustic feeling that places the emphasis on the vocals). The strong songwriting comes through, but each track takes on its own layers of additional meaning in the hands of a different singer. This is both an excellent tribute and a pleasant snapshot of current singer-songwriter talent.
