COMMUNITY REVIEWS

Compilation submitted by cjbower on August 4, 2020, 9:31am Another decent compilation of "top" music from the time.

I Really Did Listen to Every Single One of These Albums and It Took Me Like Three Years submitted by Meginator on August 26, 2020, 4:22pm I wasn’t previously familiar with most of these songs, having sort of given up on the radio during this period, but this installment of the venerable Now That’s What I Call Music series proves that the pop radio landscape is ever shifting and occasionally contains some welcome surprises. Here that means variety, with most of the album passing without the type of club-worthy dance hit that’s been a staple of these compilations since probably the single digits. So many of these songs have a sense of melancholy to them, which is definitely a change of pace from most Now albums, and it sets them apart from one another (no one, after all, is ever unhappy in quite the same way) and from recent trends. This was a pleasant surprise and a good, if unexpectedly heavy, listen.
