Accurate Title, for Better & Worse submitted by Meginator on July 11, 2021, 2:49pm Boy, this book delivers on the title. Divided into subject-based sections and crammed full of the types of jokes that have come to be known as “dad” humor, the book offers an endless parade of puns both clever and oh-so groanworthy. Though a lot of the setups and punchlines are similar (and one punchline is regrettably used twice for the same type of joke in two different sections), Niro varies the format slightly from the standard one-liner, incorporating conversations and storytelling and even a couple of riddles. I really appreciated the fill-in-the-blank sections, which offer some room for individual creativity and encourage readers to explore wordplay for themselves. Some of the wordplay will inevitably go over younger readers’ heads, but the subjects and puns are generally good for a mid- to late-elementary school audience and adults who enjoy a groan or two.
