maybe better in print than audio? submitted by camelsamba on July 4, 2025, 10:45pm Although the writing style is aimed at middle grades readers, and the protagonist is 12, the content of the mystery feels aimed at an older audience (eg murders). I listened to this as an audiobook, so I don't understand the chapter lead-ins. Are they supposed to be from some book that Myrtle has written? Obviously they hint at a tie-in to the content of the chapter but why isn't there any context for the overall book title that the 'quotes' come from? And is she supposed to have written it during or after the 'case'? A minor annoyance.
