There was enough detail added to keep it interesting, but not so much that it was hard to keep track of and follow along. I also appreciated the ending, which brought all of the details together and tied up all loose ends.

The story starts with Hannah Hall’s husband, Owen, disappearing out of the blue. The only clue he leaves behind is a note that says, “Protect her.” Laura Dave does a great job making the story suspenseful and interesting. The book also focuses on Hannah’s relationship with her stepdaughter, Bailey. As they work together to find Owen, their relationship grows stronger, adding depth to the story. Dave’s writing keeps you hooked from start to finish. The plot's twists and turns are exciting, and the ending is both satisfying and thought-provoking. It's a really good book for mystery lovers.
