Re-tread submitted by mowjac on May 19, 2021, 8:40pm Bechdel always over intellectualizes her topics, but they are usually flavored with humor and empathy. Not so in this case, where she blends Transcendentalism with her fitness fads in an attempt to talk about mortality. Not enough humor makes most of the novel a slog, until we reach more current times, but she never gives us her take on this mortal coil, sidestepping the intention of the book. I hope she moves on from memoir, as a third retelling of her life story is more than enough.

Bechdel's Best Yet submitted by emjane on July 21, 2021, 10:29pm Spanning decades, this book allegedly focuses on Bechdel's fitness obsession, but, of course, focuses on many areas of wellness. Meaningful and intriguing, this book drew me in and I couldn't help but read it over the course of a day.

So This is a Graphic Novel? submitted by justjenn1975 on June 30, 2024, 7:15am Clever how she incorporated mind and body changes through everyday life in a graphic novel. Truly entertaining for this reader. I checked out all her work after reading this one.
