"This is a Arthur A. Levine book".
"Nina is a Lipan girl in our world. She's always felt there was something more out there. She still believes in the old stories. Oli is a cottonmouth kid, from the land of spirits and monsters. Like all cottonmouths, he's been cast from home. He's found a new one on the banks of the bottomless lake. Nina and Oli have no idea the other exists. But a catastrophic event on Earth, and a strange sickness that befalls Oli's best friend, will drive their worlds together in ways they haven't been in centuries. And there are some who will kill to keep them apart"--Provided by publisher.

a great read (or listen) submitted by nemiller on June 10, 2023, 7:38am I listened to the audiobook on Libby/Overdrive, and I loved it! The Nina's and Oli's storylines both very enjoyable, and I like how their voices are so distinct. The plot has a lot of twists and turns, some of which you will anticipate and some which will take you by surprise. The pacing felt a little rushed towards the end, but overall, a very enjoyable and satisfying book!

Old Stories into New Stories submitted by teri on June 27, 2025, 12:35pm From Apache lore comes this reimagined tale with old stories woven into a fun and imaginative novel.
Both my granddaughter (12) and I enjoyed (REALLY liked, she says) this book!
