Devoted mother submitted by Zekicmom on August 11, 2014, 10:28pm This is a sweet story of Katy and her son Freddy, and how they solve the problem of her not having a pouch to carry him in. I have found memories of this book from when I was a child and recommend it for the next generation.

A lovely story submitted by kittenkat101 on July 6, 2018, 6:34pm This is a great book for preschool and early elementary aged children. It's about Katy Kangaroo who is searching for a pouch for her joey. The end is heartwarming as you see how Katy has problem-solved in a way that includes other animals!

Pockets!! submitted by terpsichore17 on July 28, 2021, 10:11pm Some part of my brain cannot suspend disbelief (if you hadn't had a pocket before, Freddy would NOT have made it this long)! But the rest of me rejoices in Katy's apron at the end: SO MANY POCKETS!! Any woman can understand what a victory that is.
