Great Boy Band Pop submitted by Meginator on July 25, 2022, 10:23pm This mini album is pure pop pleasure, with huge catchy hooks, an inherent sense of fun and joy that comes through on every track, and a direct (though significantly modernized) musical connection to the late-90s boy band scene. Surprisingly, one of the four tracks is instrumental, although it is no less catchy and satisfying than the others. I listened to this multiple times on repeat and I think it would take a few more spins for me to get sick of it (and I’m just a casual BTS fan); it’s exactly what I needed for a pick-me-up during dour pandemic times. If you’re wondering what all the fuss is about regarding BTS and K-pop, this album is a great example of the scene at its very best.
