Surprisingly Dull submitted by Meginator on August 22, 2022, 10:48am Given the Killers’ track record, I’m sure this album improves with repeated listening and close attention to the lyrics, but on a first listen it feels rather one-note and dull. The music barely shifts from track to track; while coherence can be a good thing, and indeed this album definitely feels like a well-defined project, it can also dampen the overall effect for all but the most committed first-time listeners. I caught glimpses of some intriguing depth here, but without the promise of definite reward I won’t bother to listen to this again.
