True to the book submitted by steveiew on July 14, 2022, 4:48pm Overall pretty close to the book though the plot meandered at the end.

Confusing ending submitted by Jen Chapin-Smith on July 28, 2022, 3:28pm The acting and special effects are superb. While visually stunning, the film can be hard to follow as the plot and setting shift without explanation. Warning, spoiler: the film ends like an incomplete sentence. It is clearly meant to be a cliffhanger but just feels like a sidewalk that ends abruptly and inexplicably. Presumably, more films will follow this one and continue the story. It is based on a very long novel with numerous complex plotlines and twists involving intergalactic trade and families, so trying to fit all this background into one film would be difficult, even if the previous version of "Dune" did so.

incredible adaptation submitted by zaraz on August 2, 2022, 1:55am I love this adaptation of Dune-- literally such an entertaining film featuring stunning performances, effects, and music. the soundtrack alone is a masterpiece. my friends who haven't read the book enjoyed it, as did my friends (and myself) who have. can't wait for part two!

captivating submitted by jlopez2 on July 25, 2024, 10:37am I watched this in two one hour chunks. I was completely sucked in, despite previously thinking i wouldn't enjoy it. Made me really excited to see Dune pt. 2. The acting is really good, and the world building is just strong enough that you want to see more.
