COMMUNITY REVIEWS

Great Film submitted by jibkidder on July 25, 2022, 11:15am Joachim Trier and Eskil Vogt are in top form for this unusual romantic comedy, if it is fair to even call it that, which I think it is. Vogt's singular film from the same year "The Innocents" is possibly even more amazing, but very different. I believe their approach was to work from the convention of romantic comedies, but attempt to allow for a greater realism, which, as you might guess, means allowing for more negativity, discomfort, failure. That said, this is not miserablism, and is not a film without hope.
