Sturdy, Yet Surprisingly Tricky submitted by Meginator on June 19, 2023, 11:40pm Comprised of sturdy blocks with holes and ruts drilled into them, this is a slightly different spin on the standard marble run with a surprisingly high level of difficulty. While the twists and turns inside the cubes are cool and allow for a lot of secret passage effects, the blocks do not have universally standard hole locations, which makes lining them up a bit challenging and doubly so when you’re trying to build the inner routes that distinguish this set from other marble builds. The pieces themselves are incredibly high quality and very sturdy, and the set will definitely appeal to those with excellent spatial reasoning skills, but it’s not the most approachable option for beginners.
Fun!

The 4 and 6-year olds in our life thoroughly enjoyed experimenting with these blocks. But perhaps they hadn't played with them long enough to notice the slight differences in the hole locations. I can see how this could be frustrating, but it passed them by. They liked devising ways for the marbles to be "trapped" inside the blocks. Even after 90 minutes, it was hard getting them to stop for dinner.
