COMMUNITY REVIEWS

Sad submitted by pamhockey25 on July 2, 2023, 9:55am THE WHALE revolves around a deeply troubled man and his strained relationships. It's hard to watch this man literally kill himself with food. I found it depressing to see how Charlie lived his life and the chaos he left in his wake.

The Whale. submitted by yufamily on July 20, 2023, 8:42am Chau Hong’s performance was superb! Hope to see her win an Oscar soon.

Poignant submitted by msi61 on July 23, 2023, 9:31pm The entire movie takes place inside a home which is a powerful setting for a man dealing with the consequences of his choices - the good, the bad, and the gray. The people in his life and their strained relationships explore the realness of the complexity of life and our mistakes through it.

Intense Drama submitted by smog58 on August 21, 2023, 6:51pm I am amazed at the work done to make the character so obese. Very very sad story and the daughter is deeply disturbed. I would not recommend this.

This is not just a fairy tale. In today's sick USA, there are thousands of sick, morbidly obese people who DID NOT NEED TO BE. submitted by Tassos on October 31, 2023, 1:14pm Many reviews, nobody points out the problem

The GOD AWFUL, Terminally unhealthy DIET of Americans, which, unfortunately, the McDonalds and KFC's of the world have brainwashed the REST OF THE PLANET into using.

This is NOT some "Story" that is just a movie. THousands of morbidly obese Americans like the one portrayed here EXIST and lead MISERBLE, VERY SHORT Lives, UNNECESSARILY.

You see a MILLION ads touting SHITTY FOODS every day. HOW MANY ADS FEATURING People like THIS ONE do you see?

It's NOT just the cigarette ads we finally got rid of. It is the above Murderous Garbage by McDonalds and KFC and Coca Cola and all the 'gourmet' Ice Creams.

Brendon Fraser submitted by sandyk971 on January 29, 2024, 5:20pm What an amazing performance. Brendon Fraser deserved this Oscar. His performance inspired so much sadness for his lost life. I felt uncomfortable watching this film but would recommend it to anyone in pain in hopes that they would learn from the suffering of this character and not let their own life slip away.
