Great story and story about straddling two worlds! submitted by goreygirl on June 17, 2023, 5:06pm Having visited Mexico City and loved it I continue to seek out books that feature it as a story line, and even better when this intersects with my love of graphic novel memoirs, and this book didn't disappoint. The author does a wonderful job of evoking the raw experience of feeling like you don't fit anywhere and exploring your identity while evoking the specific Mexican American experience and also telling a universal story.
Great graphic novel memoir submitted by lo_mc on July 27, 2023, 3:22pm Beautiful coming of age story based on the author’s real life experiences!
A great coming of age story about a girl who gets in touch with her heritage and reconnect with her family submitted by Margaret on July 27, 2024, 6:23pm I really liked this story mainly because we learn a lot about the main characters background and how she is trying to reconnect with her roots. The Illustrations are very easy on the eyes and I like a lot of the characters in it. This is a great graphic novel for older kids and families. It’s perfect for Hispanic heritage month. Check it out if you haven’t yet.
