PSA submitted by sara on June 9, 2023, 11:14am The detector does not come with batteries. You have to provide your own AA batteries. Since you only get the tool for a week, make sure you have batteries before you check it out.

Needs 3 AAA batteries (not included) submitted by ldunbar on June 10, 2023, 12:48pm This radon detector is super easy to use and very helpful for a 7 day test. (It would be nice if could be checked out for 10 days or 2 weeks, so one could get a full 7 day average reading.) NOTE: It needs 3 AAA batteries, which are NOT included.

Great submitted by kyounge on July 9, 2023, 1:18pm Mine came with AAA batteries, popped them in an it worked great. Except it showed a pretty high result. Bummer!

Very useful tool submitted by DawnR on September 23, 2023, 10:38am The library must have taken into account the feedback because the detector I checked out included batteries and it's for 2 weeks. Overall, Washtenaw county is a high radon area so this tool is a real benefit to the community. I plan to purchase a radon test kit for $10 from the health department and compare those test results (which the department provides) to the results from the detector.
