As for the movie, everybody loved it, but it cut no ice with me. It was RIDICULOUS in its treatment of the science AND in the VERY POOR resemblance of scientists and their spouses to the real persons. And it went on for an ENDLESS God Damned 181 minutes, half of which were FLUFF and SOAP OPERA CRAP and sure were not needed.

Go to Wikipedia and look up what the REAL Enrico Fermi looked like. He was bald as a boiled egg. He is played by a guy with more hair than a damned poodle.

Look up Oppenheimer's wife. She is played by an attractive actress. THE REAL wife's face was not just plain, but ugly.

ANd so on

I bet it will get a bunch of STUPID OSCARS Too.

Excellent historical pic submitted by purchasingqueen on August 12, 2024, 12:17am While definitely a dramatization of the actual historical events, this was a well-acted portrayal of this sad chapter in history. It went into the physical and emotional toll it took on everyone who worked on the project, especially at the end. It was so well done that I now want to I read the book that was the basis of the film. (Spoiler alert - the film won numerous Oscars).
