COMMUNITY REVIEWS

Taylor Swift at it again submitted by kwestfall23 on June 19, 2024, 8:57pm At first, some may say is a CD for those who follow Taylor Swift religiously. Although it may slightly veer off her typical sound for some, this album is one she "needed" to make to mend her broken heart. With repeated listens, you will fall back in love with her classic lyricism and catchy phrases.

incredible submitted by pprevett on June 25, 2024, 12:25pm i didn’t like it on my first listen…and then it was all i listened to for a month straight.

a great addition to taylor's discography submitted by laurenalysse on July 8, 2024, 11:16am less poppy than midnights, but not as soulful as folklore and evermore, tortured poets department has bops like I can do it with a broken heart, and world rockers like the smallest man who ever lived. worth a listen -- even the cringy lyrics grow on you

One of her best submitted by chelseagwizdala on July 8, 2024, 1:27pm This is one of her greatest works, lyrically

Worth a listen submitted by dailyreader on June 17, 2025, 1:51pm I found this one to have less energizing songs, but rather more mellow ones that were great to have on play throughout the day while i was working on other things.

One of her best submitted by norakrinitsky on July 20, 2025, 9:57am I love this album—check out the anthology too!

A Year Review submitted by LatitudeB on July 29, 2025, 11:32pm This album has been out for about a year and change. I honestly don't listen to much of it besides "I can do it with a broken heart" which I think is an absolute banger, and Florida!!! (feat. Florence + the Machine), which does include the line "all my friends smell like weed and little babies", which is kind of cringe as a line but works surprisingly well within the song? It also kind of sums up my feelings about Florida (the state).

Not Quite Taylor Swift's Best submitted by Meginator on August 24, 2025, 10:07pm Coming at this from the perspective of someone who listens to all kinds of music and who really appreciates the ways that Taylor Swift has taken advantage of her popularity to make whatever music speaks to her in the moment, I was pretty disappointed by this album. Everything is too one-note, too similar, with none of the sweeping hooks or lyrical brilliance that characterize Swift's best work across genres. The music and lyrics definitely do convey a sense of heartbreak, and especially a kind of listlessness that can often accompany that emotion, but without much to distinguish one track to the next it all becomes a bit boring after a while. A couple of standouts do buoy the album a bit by regaining Swift's usual spark ("The Tortured Poets Department") and her knack for crafting duets that capture the best of both artists ("Florida!!!"), but everything else feels like a wasteland of sameness. Of course, Taylor Swift languishing at a relatively dull point is still better than a lot of what her contemporaries are producing at their best, but I still want and expect more from her at this point. Ultimately this one's a very rare miss from her, for me, but I still can't wait to see what she does next.
